J.08 Update: Crossing the Ecuador and Docking in Beautiful Seychelles
"The Equator-Crossing Ceremony for the J08 voyage took place on 16 February. Polliwogs became Shellbacks through a maritime tradition involving fish guts, paint and some sinister visitors. All further details regarding this event remain top secret, lest King Neptune sabotage our voyage.
After the intensity of our port stop in India and amid the rigor of midterms, we looked forward to our two-day mid-voyage break in the Seychelles, an island nation northeast of Madagascar. On 17 February the ship docked in Victoria, the country’s capital, on the island of Mahé. We set off to unwind at the beautiful beaches Seychelles offers. Many snorkeled and observed the marine life native only to the region. It was a relaxing two days, and all are looking forward to arriving in Cape Town, South Africa in a little over a week!"
